Is the soil temperature measured in my lawn?

No. Turfsy uses shallow-soil estimates from the ECMWF and NOAA weather models for your area. Shade, irrigation, soil, and thatch can make your lawn different.

How does the seeding window work?

Each date is checked with the following two days for soil conditions, frost, heat, and heavy rain. A highlighted day is a useful planning signal, not a guarantee of establishment.

Where does Turfsy provide lawn guidance?

Town and ZIP search and seeding guidance currently support U.S. locations. Location services may provide a coordinate elsewhere, but Turfsy’s seeding rules are based on U.S. regions.

What does GDD help me track?

Growing degree days add up daily air warmth. Turfsy can track that warmth after a plant growth regulator (PGR) application; weed-prevention timing uses local soil-temperature trends instead of an air-GDD threshold. Home Screen widgets show soil and watering summaries, and Siri Shortcuts can log or undo watering.

Can I use Turfsy without location access?

Yes. Search for a town or ZIP code instead. Current-location access is optional.

Where is my lawn profile saved?

Your saved lawns, grass profile, and preferences are stored on your device. Turfsy does not require an account.
