Data on your device

Turfsy does not require an account. Saved lawns, grass profiles, preferences, PGR application dates, and cached readings are stored on your device. Widget data is shared locally between the app and its widget. Device backups may include this data depending on your Apple settings.

Location, soil, and weather

You can search for a town or ZIP code, or grant access to your current location. Turfsy does not continuously track your location. Apple’s location and search services help find and name locations.

Turfsy sends coordinates rounded to two decimal places to Open-Meteo for soil and weather estimates. Open-Meteo provides the app’s ECMWF and NOAA soil-model data and local forecast data. Apple WeatherKit provides the forecast shown in the app and the daily air temperatures used for GDD. These providers receive network information, such as your IP address, when the app connects, and their own privacy practices apply.

The soil temperature is a shallow model estimate near your location, not a measurement from a probe in your lawn. Turfsy does not send your saved lawn name or grass profile to its weather providers.

Purchases and notifications

Apple processes any in-app purchases. Turfsy uses purchase status to manage access to purchased features and does not receive payment card details. Optional lawn reminders are scheduled on your device after you allow notifications. If you enable a timing alert, Turfsy may use the saved lawn coordinates to refresh the weather needed for that alert.

Analytics

Turfsy does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. Apple may provide app analytics or diagnostics according to your device and App Store settings.

This website and support

Cloudflare hosts this website and provides security checks and email routing. It processes connection information such as IP addresses and browser details to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare also measures page visits and load performance on this website. The support form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to limit spam.

If you contact support, your message and any reply address you provide are delivered to our support inbox through Cloudflare and Gmail. We use this information to respond to your request and investigate issues. Please avoid including sensitive information that is not needed for support.

Managing your data

You can change location and notification permissions in iOS Settings. Removing the app removes its local app data, subject to device backups and data shared with its widget. To request deletion of support correspondence, email support@turfsy.app.
